RECOMMENDATION(S):

Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution #21031 to add two (2) Mental Health Community Support Worker I (VQWE) positions at salary level QT5 0875 ($2541.11 - 3088.73) and one Mental Health Community Support Worker II (VQVB) position at salary level QT5 0968 ($2786.21 - 3386.66) in the Health Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $208,113, including pension costs of $40,743, and will be fully funded by Mental Health Services Act monies.

BACKGROUND:

These three positions will be assigned to the Mental Health Divsion and are needed to support services funded by the Office for Consumer Empowerment. Two of these positions will support and coordinate the SPIRIT program - an accredited program that teaches wellness and recovery skills and provides individuals with the knowledge necessary to become a peer provider in the mental health field. The final position will be assigned to the Access Line Program and will be responsible for providing peer phone support, linkage to community resources, and ongoing client support.


CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, services to Mental Health clients may be adversely affected.
