RECOMMENDATION(S):

Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution #21030 to add one (1) 20/40 Mental Health Clinical Specialist - Project (VQS2) position at salary level QT2 1362 ($4240.14 - 6294.51) in the Health Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $68,651, including pension costs of $13,407, and will be funded by Mental Health Services Act monies.

BACKGROUND:

This position is needed to be part of the Perinatal Depression Project , a joint project between the Public Health and Mental Health Divisions. Duties of the position will include: providing psycho-therapeutic intervention, treatment and mental health services to clients; providing individual and group therapy; preparing social case histories; and coordinating treatment and rehabilitation plans.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, services to Mental Health clients may be adversely impacted.
