RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a Blanket Purchase Order with Sammons Preston Rolyan, Inc. for $120,000 for Rehabilitation Supplies and Equipment at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from February 1, 2011 through January 31, 2012.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Total cost of $120,000 is budgeted in Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

Sammons Preston Rolyan is one of our major suppliers of orthopedic and rehabilitation supplies, devices, and equipment used to treat patients at the Hospital and Clinics. We treat a great many injured patients and this equipment is vital to their health and recovery.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, the Rehab Department will be unable to treat patients.
