RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Resolution No. 2011/7 to approve and authorize the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute an amendment with the California Department of Aging to increase the payment limit to County by $66,969 to a new payment limit of $3,817,442 to provide additional services with no change in the term of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.

FISCAL IMPACT:

County to receive $3,817,442 to include the increased amount of $66,969 per Agreement #AP-1011-07, Amendment 1.

BACKGROUND:

Due to the enactment of Senate Bill (SB) 853, funding from the Skilled Nursing Facility Quality and Accountability fund will be allocated for the year 2010-2011 only to local long term care ombudsman programs resulting in an increase to County funds for the ombudsman program.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without the approval of additional funding, an increase in services would be denied.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

Not applicable.
