RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-684 with East Bay Medical Oncology Hematology Medical Associates, Inc. (dba Epic Care), a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $200,000, to provide oncology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from November 1, 2010 through October 31, 2012.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

Under Contract #26-684, East Bay Medical Oncology Hematology Medical Associates, Inc. (dba Epic Care) will provide oncology services including consultation, training and medical and/or surgical procedures at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from November 1, 2010 through October 31, 2012.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would go untreated.
