RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee (Wendel Brunner, M.D.), to accept, Grant Award #28-715-2 (CA0187B9T050801) from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) McKinney-Vento funding in an amount not to exceed $158,041, for the Lakeside Permanent Supportive Housing Program in Concord, for the period from September 1, 2009 through August 31, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This grant will result $158,041 of funding from HUD to support two subcontracts, one with Resources for Community Development and one with Anka Behavioral Health, Inc. The subcontractors will provide the 20% match required by HUD. No additional County funds required.
BACKGROUND:
Lakeside Permanent Supportive Housing is a mixed-use development and includes 12 units for homeless families. The units set aside for the homeless serve families with at least one parent disabled by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, or dual/multiple diagnoses and is designed to provide on-going supportive services with an emphasis on families maintaining their permanent, safe, and affordable housing.
