RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Health Services Department Mental Health Division, a purchase order with Bacon East Pharmacy in the amount of $135,000 to provide pharmacy prescriptions for mentally ill clients in Contra Costa Mental Health Programs who are uninsured or do not have Medi-Cal, for the period of February 1, 2010 to January 31, 2011.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No County General Funds. 100% Mental Health Realignment.

BACKGROUND:

Uninsured consumers leaving the hospital need medications while benefits are being established.
