RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21690 to add one (1) part-time (24/40) Exempt Medical Staff Dentist (VPW0) position at salary plan and grade level 1P5-2119 ($8,863 - $11,920) and decrease hours of Exempt Medical Staff Physician (VPW9) position #9977 and the incumbent from 40/40 to 20/40 at salary plan and grade level 1P5-2312 ($10,730 -$14,431) in the Health Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This action will result in an annual cost savings of approximately $9,018.90. (100% Enterprise Fund I)

BACKGROUND:

The Health Services Department is requesting to reduce the hours of Exempt Medical Staff Physician position #9977 from 40/40 to 20/40 and add a part-time (24/40) Exempt Medical Staff Dentist position to provide dental services assigned primarily at the Martinez Wellness Center, and at times at Pittsburg and West County clinics.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, the incumbent will not meet the full time hours and consequently lose accruals and benefits, and there will not be adequate providers to provide dental care in the Martinez Wellness Center, Pittsburg and West County dental clinics.
