On May 6, 2014, the County Administrator requested that the Board of Supervisors, refer a review of the proposed Regional Renewable Energy Procurement Solar Project to the Finance Committee.

A report from the Public Works Director on the Regional Renewable Energy Procurement Solar Project (R-REP) is attached.

Recommendation(s)/Next Step(s):

Discuss and consider the results of the bids for the Contra Costa County sites including pricing alternatives of a Power Purchase Agreement and a Direct Purchase Price.

Fiscal Impact (if any):

See attached report and specifically tables 4 and 5. Both the Power Purchase Agreement and a direct purchase resulting in reduced energy costs and net County savings over time.
