RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Jeff Smith, M.D.), to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #76-521-7 with Nanda K. Sinha, M.D. (Specialty: Orthopedics), a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $284,000, for the provision of professional Orthopedic Surgery services to patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is 100% funded by Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

On April 25, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76-521-3 (as amended by subsequent Amendment Agreements #76-521-4 through #76-521-6) with Nanda K. Sinha, M.D., for the period from April 1, 2006 through March 31, 2009, to provide orthopedic surgery services for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers including, but not limited to, clinical coverage and consultation.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #76-521-7 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide Orthopedic Surgery services, through March 31, 2010.
