In 2016, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (District) initiated the process for the design and replacement of the current Fire Station 86 located at 3000 Willow Pass Road in Bay Point. The Project will be constructed on APN 091-030-012, located on Goble Drive in Bay Point. The new fire station includes modern seismic standards, will meet current ADA requirements, and will have the ability to support modern equipment and apparatus.
In January 2020, the Public Works Department's Engineering Services Division reviewed the Project site plan and recommended Conditions of Approval for Land Use Permit LP19-2014. Condition of Approval No. 44 of LP19-2014 requires the District to convey to the County, by Offer Dedication for Roadway purposes, the right-of-way necessary for the required frontage improvements and public utility setback along Goble Drive. Condition of Approval No. 52 of LP19-2014 requires the District to convey to the County, by Offer of Dedication for Drainage purposes, a public drainage easement over any manmade drainage system which conveys storm water run-off from public streets. The Notice of Intention to convey Offers of Dedications was duly published in the Contra Costa Times in compliance with Govt. Code Section 6061.
On October 13, 2020, this Board approved the design and the bid documents for the construction of the Project; and on January 19, 2021, this Board awarded the contract to Overaa & Co.
If the Offers of Dedications are not approved, the Project will not meet the Conditions of Approval of Land Use Permit LP19-2014 and cause a delay in construction of the Project.
