RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-387-1 with Regents of the University of California on behalf of its University of California, San Diego Extension - Healthcare, an educational institution, effective April 1, 2016, to amend Contract #26-387, to extend the termination date from September 30, 2016 to September 30, 2018.

On December 8, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-387 with Regents of the University of California on behalf of its University of California, San Diego Extension – Healthcare for the provision of

supervised field instruction to lactation consultation students, for the period from October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016.

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-387-1 will allow Regents of the University of California on behalf of its University of California, San Diego Extension - Healthcare students to receive additional supervised field instruction services through September 30, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, students will not receive supervised field instruction.
