RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract with ICF Jones & Stokes, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $500,000 to provide on-call environmental services, for the period March 15, 2012 through February 28, 2015, Countywide, Project No.: Various

FISCAL IMPACT:

Work performed under this on-call contract is funded by Contra Costa County Flood Control & Water Conservation District Funds, Local Road and Transportation Funds, and Airport Project Funds.

BACKGROUND:

The Public Works Department is involved in various projects in the County which require environmental assessments and environmental clearances for flood control, road, and airport projects.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
After a solicitation process, this firm was selected, as one of five firms, to provide on-call environmental services. The Contractor will assist Public Works Department environmental staff with obtaining environmental clearances and provide on-call environmental assessments, on an as needed basis. This on-call contract will be in effect not to exceed three years.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without approval from the Board of Supervisors, necessary on-call environmental assessments may not be completed in a timely manner and necessary environmental clearances may not be obtained, which may jeopardize funding and delay the design and construction of various flood control, road, and airport projects.
