RECOMMENDATION(S):
Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a change to Purchase Order with Steris Corporation, to add $59,000 to a new total payment limit of $119,000, for maintenance, repairs and parts for the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers sterilization equipment, for this two year Purchase Order that expires on May 31, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
Steris Corporation provides maintenance, repairs and parts for the sterilizers that are used to sterilize surgical instruments at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, the hospital would be unable to perform surgical procedures due to State licensing requirements related to the sterilization of instruments between surgical cases.
