RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20977, to add one (1) full-time Accounting Technician position (JD7A - represented) at salary level 3RX 1236 ($3,623.53 - $4,627.39) and cancel one (1) full-time Account Clerk Supervisor (JDHD - represented) at salary level K6X 134, position #9917 in the Health Services Department. (100% member premiums)

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost savings of approximately $6,024.

BACKGROUND:

This position will be assigned to the team of Accounting professionals dedicated to the Contra Costa Health Plan, to address workload issues in the Finance Division. The duties that currently exist are more appropriate for the classification of Accounting Technician. Therefore, the department is requesting that an Accounting Technician position be added and the Account Clerk Supervisor position be cancelled.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, the Department will be unable to effectively and efficiently manage and oversee the fiscal operations of the Contra Health Plan.
