RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPOINT the following individual to the Appointee 1 seat of the Bay Point Municipal Advisory Council with a term expiration of January 7, 2013, as recommended by Supervisor Glover:

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.

BACKGROUND:

The purpose of the Bay Point Municpal Council (MAC) is to advise the Board on: The Council shall consist of seven (7) members, who shall be residents of Bay Point

  • Services which are or may be provided to the Bay Point community by the County or other local government agencies. Such services include, but are not limited to public health, safety, welfare, public works and planning.
  • The feasibility of organizing the existing special districts serving the Bay Point community in order to more efficiently provide public services such as, but not limited to water, sewer, fire and parks and recreation.
  
The MAC may also represent the Bay Point community before the Local Agency Formation.  
  
The MAC consists of seven (7) members, who must reside in Bay Point.  
  
On July 12, 2011 Gloria Magleby resigned her seat on the Bay Point Municipal Advisory Council. The Board of Supervisors accepted her resignation and declared her seat vacant.  
  
The seat was advertised and Supervisor Glover held interviews for all the candidates that applied for the seat.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The seat will remain vacant.
