RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a Change Order to Blanket Purchase Order #F41775 with Arthrex, Inc to add $65,000 for a new total of
$365,000, for the purchase of arthroscopic and endoscopic supplies and implants for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC), with no change in orginal term of February 1, 2012 through January 31, 2015.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% budgeted in Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

CCRMC purchases 75% of the arthroscopic supplies and implants it uses from Arthrex, Inc. These products, including trocars, sutures, screws, plates, and tissue allografts, are used in orthopedic surgeries.
CCRMC performs numerous such surgeries and needs these supplies and implants for them.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this Purchase Order is not approved CCRMC will have to cancel procedures, thus impacting patient care.
