BACKGROUND:

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and the State Workforce Investment Board (SWIB) set membership standards for local Workforce Development Boards (WDBs).  
  
The Workforce Development Board works with a broad range of businesses, education groups, labor organizations, public agencies, and community-based organizations to recruit qualified nominees for appointment/reappoint to the Board. All nominees meet the strict criteria set forth in the Workforce Investment Act.
