RECOMMENDATION(S):

Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20739, to increase the hours of one Community Health Worker I-Project (VKW1) Position (#11126) (Represented) from part time (32/40) to full time (40/40) at salary level QT5 0933 ($2691.31 - $2967.17) and decrease the hours of one Community Health Worker II (VKVB) Position (#11007) (Represented) from 28/40 to 24/40 at salary level QT5 1043 ($3000.99 - $3647.72) in the Health Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in a cost of $10,507.34 and will be 100% funded by the permanent base adjustment of $365,000 added to the WIC (Womens, Infants, and Children) grant. This action will result in no net County cost.

BACKGROUND:

The Health Services Department is requesting the adjustment of the hours of the Community Health Worker positions in order to provide the appropriate staffing of the WIC Program. Due to the exponential growth of the WIC Program, by decreasing the Community Health Worker II position hours and adding additional hours to the Community Health Worker I position will allow the program to better serve the clients of the program.
