RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20738 to increase the hours of Licensed Vocational Nurse (VT7G) Position #7434 from 32/40 to 38/40 and position #8911 from 20/40 to 32/40, in the Health Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The total cost associated with these two increases is $29,203.20 per calendar year and is completely offset by the elimination of straight time overtime already incurred by the employees working over their designated position hours.  

BACKGROUND:

The current employees in Position #'s 7434 and #8911 have consistently worked over their assigned position hours during the period of January 1, 2009 through June 30, 2009 and the need for additional hours will continue indefinitely.

The proposed change to increase hours for both positions is in accordance with the MOU between Contra Costa County and Public Employees Union, Local #1 to eliminate or sufficiently reduce the amount of overtime pay currently being paid and/or incurred monthly.
