RECOMMENDATION(S):

DECLARE that the Board of Supervisors intends to reduce its own compensation to match any negotiated compensation reduction with the Contra Costa County Employee Labor Coalition ("Coalition"). The reduction would occur at the same time that a reduction becomes effective with the Coaliton and would last for the duration of the agreement with the Coalition to help reduce the County’s budget shortfall.

DECLARE that the Board of Supervisors will reduce the compensation of all appointed and elected Contra Costa County department directors to match any negotiated compensation reduction with the Coalition. The reduction would occur at the same time that a reduction becomes effective with the Coalition and would last for the duration of the agreement with the Coalition to help reduce the County's budget shortfall.

FISCAL IMPACT:

To be determined. Possible reduction to General Fund expenditures.
