RECOMMENDATION(S):

PROCLAIM the week of May 17 – 23, 2009, as “National Public Works Week” in Contra Costa County, as recommended by the Public Works Director, Countywide. (All Districts)

No Fiscal Impact

BACKGROUND:

In celebration of Public Works Week, the Public Works Department would like to involve and acquaint all citizens and civic organizations by providing information about the Public Works Department, including the challenges involved in providing public works services, and recognizing the contributions that public works officials make every day to our health, safety, and comfort.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Contra Costa County will not be able to participate in the nationwide Public Works Week.
