RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20677 to increase the hours of Health Services Education and Training Specialist (VWSM) position No. 7486 from 32/40 to 40/40 in the Health Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The cost associated with this request is $23,301 per year and is offset by the elimination of the straight time overtime pay incurred by incumbent. Enterprise I Fund

BACKGROUND:

Current incumbent has worked consistently over her assigned position hours, and the need for additional hours will continue. Position is responsible for training and education of new nurses and nurse-physician teams for maternity/delivery.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, the Department will continue to incur overtime pay and patient safety in the maternity/delivery unit would be compromised.
