RECOMMENDATION(S):

AUTHORIZE the Auditor-Controller to make payment on behalf of the Public Authority to the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) for delinquency charges from late pension account payment(s) which resulted in late fees in the amount of $2,685.02.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$2686 Public Authority, 100% County

BACKGROUND:

Section1, paragraph 4 of the SEIU National Industry Pension Fund's "General Policy" describes the fund's right to establish and collect delinquent fees. Due to administrative error, SEIU pension payments were delayed for three (3) months resulting in delinquency charges of $2,685.02. To remedy and assure the administrative error does not reoccur, the pension payment responsibilities have been transferred to a senior staff member. Clear timelines have been established to assure timely submission of payment(s).
