RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute a purchase order with Oracle USA, Inc.,
on behalf of the Department of Information Technology, in the amount not to exceed $233,356 to renew

Oracle USA, Inc. software licenses with maintenance.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The cost of $233,356 is budgeted under FY 2008/2009 and charged back to user departments through the DoIT billing process.

BACKGROUND:

The Department of Information Technology initiates the purchase and renewal of software license maintenance from Oracle USA, Inc., each year on behalf of various County Departments. The related departments are charged for their share of the cost, as applicable.

In accordance with Administrative Bulletin No 611.0, County Departments are required to get Board approval for single item purchases over $100,000. The County Administrator’s Office has reviewed this request and recommends approval.
