The estimated project cost is $456,000. This project is funded by Safe Routes to School Grant (68.2%), Local Gas Tax (16.4%) and Transportation Development Act Funds (15.4%).
The purpose of this project is to close the sidewalk gap on the north side of Pacheco Boulevard (Blvd.) between Camino Del Sol and Windhover Way, in order for pedestrians and the mobility impaired to access public transportation, stores, schools, and the neighborhood. The project is located in central Contra Costa County (County) in the unincorporated community of Pacheco.
The project consists of road widening (approx.14ft. wide by 300 ft. long), excavating sections of soil, back filling, grading, installing asphalt concrete, and new concrete sidewalk (approx. 6ft. wide by 300 lf); removing or adjusting a fence, conforming driveways; removing existing curb ramps and installing ADA compliant curb ramps and gutters; installing and/or adjusting drainage inlets, adjusting utilities, and signs; relocating a traffic signal and extending curb to accommodate signal, trimming or removing shrubbery, and re-striping the roadway, including bike lanes throughout the project site.
Real property transactions and utility relocations will be necessary in support of this project. At least one lane of traffic will be open at all times during construction activities. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
The project consists of operation, repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public structures or facilities, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond what is previous existing. The project will not result in the removal of any scenic resource.
Delay in approving the project will result in a delay of design and construction and may jeopardize funding.
