RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract change order with Pacific States Environmental Contractors, Inc., effective February 13, 2009, in an amount not to exceed $39,191 to a new payment limit of $253,266 for abatement and demolition of 1700 Oak Park Boulevard project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Project will be funded by 100% Special Revenue Funds.
BACKGROUND:
On November 18, 2008, the Board approved the original contract with Pacific States Environmental Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $214,075 for the demolition and abatement of 1700 Oak Park Boulevard in Pleasant Hill. The contractor has identified additional concrete utilidor and transite (asbestos containing) pipe removal work, water line repair and curb/drainage repair that will cost $39,191 to remove and repair. The above referenced amendment increases the total contract payment limit by $39,191 for a new payment limit of $253,266. This amendment covers unforeseen demolition and concrete repair and removal work requiring additional action by the contractor in order to keep the project on track and to ensure public safety.
