RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No.21529 to increase the hours of one (1) part-time (32/40) Senior Community Library Manager (3AGH) (represented) vacant position No. 11860 at salary plan and grade ZAX-1662 ($5,587-$7,135) to full-time (40/40) in the Library Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This action will result in an annual cost increase of $19,308. No fiscal impact to the County general fund. This position is funded in the Library budget.

BACKGROUND:

The Library is requesting to increase the hours of one (1) 32/40 Senior Community Library Manager position due to the increase in size and scope associated with the management of the Pittsburg and Bay Point Libraries. The Library has carefully evaluated the activities of the position and determined that due to the expansion of key community relationships, increases in the circulation of library materials, increase in staff count, and a larger number of educational library programs for patrons, additional hours are needed to provide proper oversight.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to implement the aforementioned action will result in a lack of proper oversight at the Pittsburg and Bay Point Libraries.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

No impact.
