RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-464-1 with John R. Rostkowski, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $116,480, to provide professional psychiatric services to patients in Central County for the period from October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2015.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental, and Mental Health Specialists to provide professional services, which are not otherwise available. On October 15, 2013 the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-464 with John R. Rostkowski, M.D., a Professional Corporation, for the provision of professional psychiatric services to patients in Central County for the period from October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2014. Approval of Contract #74-464-1 will allow the Contractor to continue providing professional psychiatric services through September 30, 2015.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s professional psychiatric services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community.
