RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21402 to establish the classification of District Attorney Forensic Accountant (6KSA) at salary plan and grade ZB5 1881 ($6,958 - $8,458) and add one (1) position in the District Attorney's office.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$177,465 at top step, of which $44,536 is attributable to employer pension costs. This position will be funded by the District Attorney's Consumer Protection and Environmental/OSHA Special Funds.

BACKGROUND:

The District Attorney's office lacks the internal resources to analyze complex accounting and financial documents to assist with the prosecution of a variety of fraud cases. This position will focus on cases involving economic fraud or financial crimes.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this item is not approved, the department will not have the appropriate classification to prosecute cases involving economic fraud or financial crimes. (Special Funds)
