APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Department, or designee, to execute a contract in the amount of $59,668 from Humboldt State University to provide business consulting and business training to local businesses for the period January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014.

FISCAL IMPACT:

BACKGROUND:

The Small Business Development Center maintains cooperative agreements with other service providers (e.g., colleges, universities, economic development corporations, and local government) and increase the small business sector's contributions to economic development in Contra Costa County. Traditionally, Humboldt State University is late in acknowledging and announcing grant awards.
