Referral History:

Discussion and update on the status of the Los Medanos Health Advisory Committee.

The reimbursement process is difficult for smaller organizations that do not have the funds available to make purchases before receiving grant money. The Advisory Committee is requesting a meeting with the county Auditor Controller's office and is considering making a statement about the challenges associated with the current reimbursement process.

The Advisory Committee has created two subcommittees. The Grant Program subcommittee is working on developing the final Los Medanos Health Area Grant Program. The Health Needs Assessment subcommittee is working on the area's health needs assessment. Data has been submitted from the county health department and the next step is developing the survey that will be used to collect information directly from the community.
