RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #76-624-9 with Sharjo, LLC (dba Servicemaster Restoration Services & Servicemaster Recovery Management), a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, to provide emergency restoration services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Centers for the period November 1, 2023 through October 31, 2026.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this contract will result in service expenditures of up to $300,000 over a three-year period and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

Contra Costa County has an obligation to provide facility restoration services at CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers during emergency events requiring immediate assistance during COVID-19 pandemic and other adverse events by providing deep cleaning services at potential or affected facilities. Contractor has provided emergency restoration services with the County since December 1, 2018.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

On June 21, 2022 the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76-624-8 with Sharjo, LLC (dba Servicemaster Restoration Services & Servicemaster Recovery Management), in an amount not to exceed $9,300,000 for the provision of restoration services during emergency events requiring immediate assistance during COVID-19 pandemic and other adverse events by providing deep cleaning services at CCRMC and Health Centers for the period May 1, 2022 through October 31, 2023.

Approval of Contract #76-624-9 will allow contractor to continue providing emergency restoration services to resolve emergency events requiring immediate assistance through October 31, 2026.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers will not have access to contractor’s emergency restoration services.
