RECOMMENDATION(S):
ADOPT Resolution No. 2021/161 to approve and authorize the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract to accept funding in an amount not to exceed $5,495,887 from the California Department of Aging for Older Americans Act Title III and Title VII Services for the period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.
FISCAL IMPACT:
County to receive $5,495,887 from the California Department of Aging, Older Americans Act funding. (80% Federal, 20% State) (A total match of $644,804 is required, $213,025 is met by the County and $431,779 is met by subcontractors).
BACKGROUND:
The Employment and Human Services Department, Area Agency on Aging, provides services to County residents 60 years and older as defined by Title IIIB, Title IIID, Title IIIE and Title VII of the Older Americans Act. Services include, but are not limited to supportive services, ombudsman services, congregate meal sites, home delivered meals, disease prevention, family caregiver services, legal services, and elder abuse prevention services.
